Backbiting and Fakenews, Right-wing Strategy in an Election Year
Even after official investigations have shown that there were no embezzlements of public resources, many airheads still make accusations in reference to the projects of the new diesel-electric submarines Scorpène, contracted to the French DNS, and the Brazilian fighters Gripen NG, contracted to the Swedish SAAB,negotiated in the PT governments of Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff.
The topic came back up to the fore this election year, addressed in military-themed lives on YouTube.These are voices that echo the interests of opportunists from the most ruthless and abject right in this country, which rose to power, to the leadership of ministries and state companies, after the 2016 coup d'état.
There are also voices of public servants from 'state careers', who approached the coup plotters to obtain projection in the Planalto, in the Esplanada dos Ministérios and in government agencies, eager for bits of power and crumbs from the tables of the powerful, showing themselves available to thethe exercise of the vilest missions against national and citizenship interests, whether in the virulent dilapidation of public assets, in unnecessary unjustifiable privatizations of profitable but undervalued state-owned companies; be, for example, in the area of the financial market, in the remuneration, to the banks, of the daily surplus of cash, carried out without any legal support by the BC until recently, causing losses of many billions of Reais to the country.
Parrot journalists also sell their pen to the most scoundrel interests of the Brazilian elite, those 800 characters who rule the country, about which sociologist Jessé Souza instructed in his book(1), abject and nefarious people who are worth even less than their own excrement.
These are futile accusations thrown to the wind, irresponsibly and without any evidence, about theft and embezzlement of funds in the Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff governments. More than defamation and political persecution, these are evidence of the rogue action of those who, when they were in power, did nothing to make the country rich or its people happy, much less make it a military power less dependent on the century-old softpower and diplomatic skill of the Itamarati(2), in the solution of international conflicts involving the interests of the State and the Brazilian Nation and its business community.
Under the Lula and Dilma governments, Brazil underwent a major transformation.As a result of the action of the Brazilian State, it began to incorporate state-of-the-art technologies that had never been imagined by the national private sector, intended for the production (1) of modern French submarines, at the Itaguaí da Marinha Naval Complex, in Rio de Janeiro;(2) Swedish Gripen fighter jets, in Gavião Peixoto SP, by Embraer;and (3) state-of-the-art military and civil helicopters, manufactured by the Brazilian company Helibras, in Minas Gerais, in partnership with the European Airbus.
Unmasking the neoliberal theoretical rubbish that market forces solve everything, also at the initiative of the Brazilian State, there was also a great advance in the nautical and naval industry, including the production of large oil platforms, notably of the FSPO type, fantastic, with great capacity foroil and gas processing.
They were governments that extinguished the country's hunger and promoted development. And, therefore, they have built wide international credibility, very different from what the country has today, because France would never agree to cede at this moment sensitive technologies to the current occupant of the Plateau. Moreover, unlike the present day, in which nothing new happened in military acquisitions, were carried out in the Lula and Dilma government successful acquisitions of war like media to defense. Check out some examples below
(1) the acquisition by the Dilma Rousseff government, for FAB Brasiliam Air Force, of 12 fantastic Russian attack helicopters, new, MI-35 model, known by the FAB Brasilian Air Force as AH2 Sabre, at a total cost equivalent to US$ 300 million, US$ 25 million each. A bargain compared to the Turkish TAI Augusta Westland T138 Atach attack helicopters, budgeted at $40 million each. Or compared to U.S. helicopters AH-A1Z Viper, budgeted at $75 million each. Or compared to the North American helicopters model AH-64 Apache, budgeted at US$ 250 million each.
But the truth is that the cheap ideologism of the Palácio do Planalto, today, and its subalternness to Washington, in its strategy of demonization of Russia, endorsed by the military command, determined the withdrawal of the active, in 2022, without any explanations, of the Russian helicopters AH2 Sabre.
Incorporated to the FAB in April/2010, during the Dilma government, these attack helicopters filled the Force's operational gap and had been fulfilling their mission in defense of the Amazon very well, according to the specialized press of the various commanders of the Poti Battalion (2nd/8th GAV), responsible for the operationalization and maintenance of the fleet, in Porto Velho, RO.
This incomprehensible movement of the high administration of the FAB -- of dispensing with the only weapon that could deter and competently counter an invasion of the Brazilian Amazon by forces authorized by the UN, under the rhetoric of deterring the destruction of the forest, promoted by loggers and miners and approved by the Government Bolsonaro --, this movement is simultaneously the survey for the purchase by the Brazilian Army of Turkish helicopters, mentioned above, TAI Augusta Westland T138 Atach, 60% more expensive than the AH2 Sabre MI-35.
(2) the acquisition of 220 German MBT tanks model Leopard A1-5, fully modernized, from 2008, by the German company KMW, delivered to the Brazilian Army until 2012;
(3) the contracting of the acquisition of 1,580 military combat vehicles (VBTP-MR) Guarani 6x6, in December/2009, produced in the city of Sete Lagoas MG and with scheduled delivery in 4 batches;
(4) the contracting in 2012 and the joint production of the A-Darter, air-to-air missile in 2012, intended to equip the new Brazilian Gripen NG fighters, the F-5M-BR fighters and possibly also the Navy Skyhawk fighters and AMX bombers, both modernized by Embraer at a cost of only US$ 9 million each, for an active survival of about 15 years;
(5) the research, development and production of the Mansup anti-ship missile (the national equivalent of the French Exocet missile), a fantastic 10-year project of the Brazilian Navy, begun in 2008 and which had its first test launch in 2018, aimed at equipping the new Brazilian frigates.
These were and are being tangible results, fruits of labor in favor of the public interest in the area of national defense, short and medium term projects initiated in the Lula and Dilma governments.
The technological dominance obtained by Brazil in the contracts of the electric and nuclear diesel submarines Scorpène and Gripen fighters, as well as the international projection of the country, got Washington's attention, which soon mobilized and set in motion the destructive plan of reputations configured in Operation Car Wash,in association with the Obama government Justice Department and the CIA, to the point of being condemned and arrested a national hero, Admiral Othon, responsible for the Nuclear Program of the Brazilian Navy and the brazilian nuclear submarine project, developed by it.
Thus, Washington -- in association with the most abject segment in Brazil's anti-national and entertaining elite, hallucinated by a Greencard and a house with golden taps in Miami -- managed to destroy the brasilian heavy construction industry, the capital goods industry, the nautical-naval industry, the petrochemical industry and took an important portion of the Pre-Salt and dismantled Petrobras.
Some Boeing 737 Max aircraft falls, the paralization of its sales and the gigantic loss resulting, however, led the Boeing-Pentagon consortium to acquire EMBRAER Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica, for the bargain of only US$ 4 billion, now depository of the Swedish technology of the Greepen NG fighters and with two other Brazilian technological jewels, the Military Aircraft KC-390 and the Super-Tucano light fighter, in addition to the fantastic commercial jets of wide commercial success, the models E-175 E2, E-190 E2, E-195 E2, E-170, E-175, E-190, E-195; and the Phenon-300 executive jet, the best-selling ten years in the category.
The sale operation of the 3rd largest aircraft company on the planet was unbelievably applauded by the High Comand Armed Forces, in Brasilia, under shameful diagnosis of mere "market issue", as declared the commander of the Air Force at the time.
The country has foundered: there are millions of unemployed, miserable and hungry; and a new exodus of Brazilians is underway.The vagabond elite that promoted the devastation of the economy and society, escaped to London, NY, Paris, Berlin and, of course, to Miami, safe from the insecurity and suffering that would be imposed on them by the institutional damage they produced in the country: the disorganization of the State and the dispute of power between Legislative, Judiciary and Federal Executive and Public Ministry, in addition to deindustrialization, misery, hunger, unemployment and epidemics... and, yes, a President of the Republic directly involved in the death of 667 thousand Brazilians by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We can't forget either a Minister of Economy and a president of the Central Bank both owners of offshores, trusts abroad, where they illegally keep their personal resources safe of the destruction they themselves have wrought on the country's economy.
The accelerated decline of the Brazilian State is unbelievable, (1) where its organs are committed to North American domination, welcome the idea and make possible the delivery of the Alcantara Aerospace Base to the "big brother of the North"; (2) where parliamentarians and government agencies make it possible for American and British companies to steal energy and oil resources from the Pre-Salt reserves; (3) where government agencies boycott national vaccine production and make it possible to import American and British Covid-19 vaccines; (4) where the Central Bank gives BRL 1.2 trillion to banks to lend to micro small and medium-sized companies, in bank credits intended to keep the economy running and activate employment, but the banks only lent BRL 50 billion;and, instead of being punished by the BC, they hoarded the remainder and kept it under royal remuneration by the Central Bank itself, in Repurchase Agreements, benevolent to the banks; (5) and, on the other hand, people living on the streets, unemployment, hunger and misery, receive only R$ 600 a month to survive with their families ... and this list of ignominy is long.
The destruction of the country promoted since 2016 has been fantastic. So harmful to the Brazilian people, it could only have been imposed through a coup d'état.
This destruction needs to be reversed and there is much to be done by a new government that has public spirit, true patriotism and courage to face the vulture bank, to deconstruct the neo-liberal economic policy imposed by it and reverse the totality of its anti-national acts and income concentrators; that has the negotiation capacity to unite the Brazilian people again around a national constructive project and that really wants to work and take care of the Nation.
